The RaceMaster98 Evaluation Version – will enable prospective purchasers to review the product and assure themselves that it will meet (or exceed) their needs. Users can check out ALL the functionality without exception. The only limitation is to restrict the number of competitors in an event to 35 (for commercial reasons). The full version can be "unlocked" by using a specific User Name and Password that is supplied by Sport Systems when the full version is purchased. Additionally, the evaluation version (and the full version) can be used as a "viewer" of Race Results, produced by other clubs / organisations by importing their meeting file from a web site, from diskette or from e-mail.
Single or Multiple Races / Events – RaceMaster98 can cater for either a single race or multiple races. For example, if you organise four Cross Country races in an afternoon or if you organise a 5 Mile and a 10 Mile Road Race which both start at the same time, RaceMaster98 can easily deal with these.
Multiple Races / Events – If you’re organising a meeting with a number of events / races RaceMaster98 will allow you to allocate competitors to either:
Advertise your next Meeting – You can type in a free-format message that will appear at the bottom of each report. This can be used to advertise your next meeting or to thank your sponsor.
County Championship Races – If you organise an Open Race that also incorporates a County Championship race, RaceMaster98 can easily deal with this including producing a separate set of results (and team results) for both men and ladies.
Options – Should your event also include prizes for "Local Runners" or "First Husband & Wife pair" etc. RaceMaster98 can also accommodate these features very easily. Similarly, if you organise a "Corporate Challenge" type event RaceMaster98 can deal with the competitors company (team) results.
Qualification Date – In the UK it is usual to select a competitor category by using his or her age on the day of the race. However, on the continent, it is common to use the 1st January each year as the qualification date. Additionally, in the UK, some young athletes’ categories are evaluated by using their age on a date in September each year for Cross Country events. RaceMaster98 can handle these options with ease.
Flexible Age Categories – Once a Race Director has decided the prize categories that will be used, RaceMaster98 can be tailored according to these needs. For example, one can define; Senior Men (up to 39), Vet Men (40-49), Vet Men (50+), Senior Ladies etc. As you can tell, this is totally flexible.
Race Directors’ Prize Presentation List – The aim of any Race Director is to present the prizes as soon after the race as possible. To greatly assist this objective, we have provided a report that gives this exact information on one (or two) pieces of paper. When each category is defined, you can also add the "Size of Prize List" (i.e. number of prizes for each category). RaceMaster98 can then be asked to produce the prize presentation list at the appropriate time thus giving both speed and accuracy. [Example PDF]
Entering Competitor Details – This is usually one of the most critical elements in staging a successful event. Accuracy and speed of data entry are essential, particularly when dealing with entries on the day. To assist this, we have introduced a standard and a fast method of data entry. Additionally, any competitor who has entered a previous event will have their details stored in the "Competitors File". This means that the data entry effort is significantly reduced (particularly as the Competitor File grows over time). We have developed very fast techniques for you to identify competitor details and to select them from the file. All you need to do is to add their Race Number and any options (i.e. enter in County Championship).
Athletes Registration Number – Already, some UK Regional Athletics bodies have introduced Registration schemes and it is anticipated that this will spread nationally in due course. In recognition of this, RaceMaster98 has included the capability to record competitor registration numbers and to search / enter details by registration number as well as by name.
Race Commentators Support – Many races use Race Commentators with PA systems to inform the crowd / supporters of Race progress and to give information about individual athletes. RaceMaster98 has a facility to record free-format text information about competitors that can be used to assist Race Commentators. Easy look-up facilities by either name or Race Number are available to access information quickly and easily thus enhancing the quality of the Race.
Recording Finishing Positions and Times – A great deal of attention has been placed on the design of this function within RaceMaster98. The key objectives were; speed of entry (Race Numbers and Times), error trapping (duplicate race numbers / invalid times etc.) and visibility of information. The end result is a highly efficient and easy to use function that more than achieves these design objectives.
Race Results – Speed and accuracy are key requirements in producing race results. RaceMaster98 produces exceptionally clear, concise and visually pleasing results that can be viewed on screen and/or printed. A whole host of options are available to produce results with Race Pace (in mins/mile or mins/km) or with Age Grading percentages. Additionally, Team Results and the Race Directors Prize Presentation List can easily be produced at any time. As a further feature, all reports are prefixed with the word "Provisional" until such time as the "Results Confirmed" box is checked. This subtlety significantly reduces the arguments (and confusion) which can ensue before final amendments have been made to the results.
Export Race Results – Apart from being able to view results on screen and to print them RaceMaster98 also has the ability to export the reports in various formats:
