The Turks Head 10k Fun Run
Sunday May 22nd 2016 – 10am start.
THERE WILL NOT BE ANY ENTRIES AVAILABLE ON RACE DAY FOR THIS EVENT
After the HUGE success of the last 3 years, THE BEARCAT RUNNING CLUB and FULLERS are proud to announce the return of The Turks Head 10k. This is not just a race, it is a one day party, starting with a fantastic community race and ending in the pub with music, bbq and lots of FUN! THE TURKS HEAD 10K BRINGS A COMMUNITY TOGETHER.
The date is Sunday MAY 22ND, the time 10.00am.
The race is open to all abilities over the age of 15 however, this route takes in the Thames Towpath/Teddington Lock Bridge which in parts may not be suitable for all wheelchair users.
This race will forever be run in memory of Mary McLarnon who died in 2013, she taught many of your children and was a pillar of The Blue School, Isleworth
Some heroes in our community are obvious, some not so. This year I am celebrating the two Founders of The Cabbage Patch 10 Malcolm Ellis and Frank Dupree. They set up this professional race in 1982 which is now very much part of the Twickenham community and is a regular in most runners diaries. Through their race they have also raised over £80,000 for local Clarendon School in Hampton. They, along with their fantastic team work tirelessly to get this HUGE race on every year and today will be opening our race for us. Thank you Malcolm and Frank for all you have done for runners in our community in the last 35 years. This years race will be on 16th October 2016.
There will be prizes for the first 6 male and female runners.
There will also be a SPOT PRIZE – donated by SPORTING FEET, put your race number in a box at The Turks Head Pub and it will be drawn after the prizes are given.
Goody bag – THE TURKS HEAD 10K GOOD Y IS LEGENDARY
Last year our goody bag was worth at least £35 (David Lloyd day pass WORTH £25, Elephant food nutrition, Asics key ring, Waldegrave clinic money off voucher, money off The Maris Practice, Aspirations Academy hessian bag, MDS Patient Support Group red drawstring bag, can of Fullers beer, medal, T shirt, bottle of Gatorade, bananas, FREE EYE BROWN SHAPE!
