Case Studies

CASE STUDY 1 – Cabbage Patch 10

The Cabbage Patch 10 in South West London has been running for over 30 years. It is the course on which Richard Nerurkar set his British record for ten miles on road of 46:02. In addition to timing the event, Sport Systems provides an online facility with full entry management including race number mailout, and dealing with runners’ queries by email and over the phone. Many running clubs use this race as their 10mile championship and Sport Systems is able to support the many transfers and changes to the runner database up to the start of the race itself.

CASE STUDY 2 – Hastings Half Marathon

Hastings Half Marathon organised by the Hastings Lions has raised millions of pounds over the years for a wide range of good causes and charities. Sport Systems has provided timing services for the race even before there was chip timing! As with the Cabbage Patch 10, we provide entry management and help desk services. In this case however, as Hastings Lions have the resources to print and distribute race numbers and information, we send the Lions runners’ data on a weekly basis for them to print out the runners’ packs.

CASE STUDY 3 – Weald Challenge and High Peak 40

The Weald Challenge and High Peak 40 are both long distance events. The former features Ultra, Marathon and Half Marathon races. Sport Systems only provides an online entry service for these events as they are too small to justify the costs of chip timing and finish times are captured manually and processed using RaceMaster©.
