In 1990 Sport Systems produced the original RaceMaster software. It ran on DOS and rapidly became the leading race management software in the UK. RaceMaster98 for Windows was released in 1998 and continued to lead the field. It has now been purchased by over 450 UK clubs and race organisers.
In response to requests from our customers we expanded to provide one of the most comprehensive race management services available. You’ll find out more about them from this site. They can be tailored to meet the individual needs of your event or can span it entirely; from the processing of race entries and numbers through to the production, collation and publication of the results. On the day of the race we work closely with the Race Director and the event management team to provide a professional timing and results service.
As we say above, Sport Systems' goal is to free you to do what you do best, organise your race! Sunday 18 May starting at 9:30am. Run in support of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd the Shell Chester Half Marathon is certain to hit its quota of 2,600 competitors well in advance of race day. Sunday 18 May. Oxford is the destination for one of Sport Systems timing teams. The T&G will run for the fourth time on its unique course that takes runners through the centre of Oxford, passing Queen’s, University, Brasenose, Balliol, Trinity, Wadham, Keble, Mansfield and Manchester colleges. Sunday 18 May starting at 9:00am. Another Sport Systems timing team will be in Staines for this popular 10K. Organised by Runnymede Runners, Spelthorne Council and Staines Strollers this is the second year that Sport Systems will time the race and provide entry management. Sunday 18 May starting at 11:00am. Sport Systems are once again returning to time the Woodley 10K. This is a fairly flat suburban road course which has been certified by BAF/RRC. The day also includes a 3 Km junior challenge race (11-16 years). Race details can be found at www.woodley10k.co.uk.
Sunday 1 June. The Dorking 10 is one of the premier road races in the south east of England, regularly attracting over 700 entrants. This year the race incorporates the Surrey 10 Mile Championships. You can enter by going via www.sportsystems.net/dorking/.
Monday 2 June. The Cork City Marathon is taking place for the second time in twenty-two years and Sport Systems will be there to provide timing and results. With aspirations to quickly become one of Ireland’s largest races its set to become a popular event with all marathon running tourists. Saturday 7 June starting at 10am. Set on the paths around Eton College’s Dorney Lake (also the rowing venue for the London Olympics) the Dash of the same name is a great course to bag a PB. Sunday 8 June. Try this 5-mile run in Eltham Park North or enter the 1 mile fun run if you’re just starting out. Sunday 8 June starting at 10:00am. The Stortford 10 has changes – its got a new date and a new distance; 10K as opposed to 10 miles. That’s why we’re pleased to be going to the English Riviera to time the Torbay Half Marathon. Sunday 29 June starting at 10:30am. See if you can beat your PB on this flat, single lap course, now in its second year. It’s been changed following feedback, so now you can take in some of the rural roads in the area as well as going round the disused airfield. You’ll be slower than the sports cars and bikes that normally use the track to burn some rubber, but don’t let that worry you - just enjoy the fun memento you get at the end! Sunday 29 June start time 9:00am. This is a fast summer 10k that gives you the opportunity of a PB on a flat two-lap course – part on roads and part on Thames Towpath. If you’re feeling speedy and meet the eligibility criteria, then you can go flat out for the Surrey 10k Championship which forms part of the race. Sunday, 14th September 2008, start time 10:00am. Find out if you are tough enough to take on the challenging 10 mile route used by The Parachute Regiment for selecting new recruits.This uniquely tough run follows the same undulating multi terrain course used in Paratrooper selection. It can be run with or without a Bergen rucksack. There is also a special Team Challenge for teams of four carrying rucksacks Needless to say it will require you to prepare yourself with dedicated training well before the event. Sunday 19 October staring at 10:00 am. The Cabbage Patch 10 mile race is one of the flattest and fastest 10 milers in the country. Richard Nerurkar set an all time British record here of 46 mins 2 secs in 1993. Starting and finishing in Twickenham the course follows a loop, crossing the River Thames at Kingston Bridge and Richmond Bridge.
